Partner View Type Restriction

Partner View Type Restriction provides flexible control over the View Type option in the Odoo Partner interface. It enables administrators to manage View Type visibility for individual users according to their roles and business requirements. When the restriction is enabled, the selected user cannot change or select different views from the Partner interface. The module operates independently of existing Partner access rights and standard Odoo security permissions. It provides a controlled and consistent interface without changing the availability of individual Partner views.

Features

Individual Partner View Type Control

Administrators can assign the View Type option separately for individual Partner users. This allows businesses to manage the Contacts and Partners interface according to different user roles and responsibilities. Existing Partner access rights remain unaffected by the restriction.

Hide View Type Option

When the restriction is enabled, the View Type option is removed from the selected user's Partner interface. This prevents users from switching between available Partner views directly from the interface. The feature controls only the View Type option and does not restrict individual Partner view types.

1.)Admin View Type Access Rights

Go to Settings and open the required user configuration page. Under the Contact View Type access option, select All Views for the selected user. This grants the user access to all available Contact view types. The configured access can then be used to manage Contact records with complete view visibility.

2.)Customer

After configuring Contact View Type as All Views, the user can access all available Contact views. The Contact records are visible in both List and Kanban views. This allows users to switch between supported views based on their working requirements. It provides a more flexible and convenient way to manage Contact information.

3.)User View Type Access Rights

Open the user settings and change the Contact: View Type access option to No. This configuration restricts the user from accessing the additional Contact view types. The selected restriction is applied specifically to the user's Contact interface. Other standard Odoo access permissions remain unaffected.

4.)Customer

After setting Contact: View Type to No, only the List view remains available to the user. The Kanban view is no longer visible without the required view access. This restriction keeps the Contact interface limited to the permitted view type. Users can continue managing Contact records through the available List view.
