Hide/Show Filter & Group By Specific Models
Hide/Show Filter & Group By Specific Models provides user-wise control over search filters and Group By options across different Odoo models. Administrators can hide selected filters and grouping choices for specific users without modifying standard Odoo views. Separate access rules can be configured for Journal Entries, Payments, Products, Invoices, and other business records. The module simplifies search menus, strengthens access control, and prevents users from applying restricted filtering or grouping options.
Features
User-Wise Filter Access Control
Control the visibility of search filters separately for each user and Odoo model. Administrators can select filters such as Draft, Posted, Cancelled, Services, Goods, Customer Payments, or Vendor Payments and hide them from specific users without modifying the original search view.
User-Wise Group By Access Control
Restrict selected Group By options according to the user and model. Administrators can hide options such as Status, Partner, Journal, Salesperson, Product Type, Payment Method, or Company while keeping the remaining grouping options available for normal use.

1.) Hide/Show Filter & Group By Specific Models
The Filter / Group By Access tab allows administrators to control which search filters and grouping options are hidden for a particular user. Add a line, select the required Odoo model, and choose the filters or Group By options that the user should not be able to access. In this example, restrictions are configured for Journal Entries, Products, and Payments.

2.) Invoice Search Options Before Applying Restrictions
Before applying user-specific restrictions, the selected user can access all available invoice search options. The Filters section displays choices such as Draft and Cancelled, while the Group By section includes Salesperson, Partner, Payment Method, Journal, and Company. This screen represents the standard search menu available to the user before access control is applied.
3.) Define Restricted Filters and Group By Options
Administrators can define multiple restrictions for each model from the user configuration. In this example, the Posted and Draft filters are hidden for Journal Entries, while the Status and Partner grouping options are restricted. Similar rules are configured for Payments and Products, allowing search-menu access to be managed independently for every supported model.

4.) Verify Hidden Invoice Filters and Group By Options
After the restrictions are configured, the selected user no longer sees the restricted search options. The Draft filter has been removed from the Filters section, and the Partner option is no longer available under Group By. Other permitted options remain accessible, confirming that the module applies filter and grouping restrictions according to the selected user and model.
