POS Waiter Lock Table (Restaurant Table Lock by Waiter)

The POS Waiter Lock Table app helps restaurants avoid confusion by making sure only one waiter can handle a table at a time. When a waiter opens a table, it gets locked for them until the order is finished or canceled.

Features

Table Locking by Waiter

When a waiter opens a table in the POS, the system automatically locks that table for them. This means no other waiter can take orders or make changes to the same table at the same time. It ensures smooth order management, prevents mistakes, and avoids confusion between staff members.

Waiter Identification on Tables

Locked tables display the name of the waiter who is currently serving that table. This makes it easy for other staff members and managers to quickly see who is responsible for each table. It improves accountability and provides a clear view of table assignments in the restaurant.

Clear Visual Indicators

The system uses simple color coding to show table status. Free tables remain green, while locked tables turn red with the waiter name displayed. These visual indicators make it quick and easy for staff to know which tables are available and which are in use, reducing errors and saving time during busy hours.

Automatic Unlock on Order Completion

Once an order is either paid or canceled, the system automatically unlocks the table. This ensures that tables become available again for other waiters to use without requiring any manual action. It helps keep the restaurant workflow fast, efficient, and error-free.

3.) Order Creation on Locked Table

4.) Table Locked and Assigned to Waiter

Table 1 is locked and clearly marked in red, showing it is currently in use. The system also displays the assigned waiter name (Anita Oliver) on the table, making it easy for other staff members to know who is serving it.

5.) Access Denied - Table Already Reserved

Table 1 is locked by Anita Oliver. When another waiter (Abigail Peterson) tries to access the same table, the system displays a “Table Reserved” popup. This message clearly informs the user that the table is already being managed by another waiter.

6.) Taking Orders on a Locked Table

This screen shows Table 2 managed by Abigail Peterson, where multiple items (Ice Tea, Green Tea, and Funghi Pizza) have been added to the order. Once the waiter opens the table, it is automatically locked for them, preventing other staff from interfering.

7.) Multiple Tables Managed by Different Waiters

Table 1 is locked by Anita Oliver while Table 2 is locked by Abigail Peterson. Each table is reserved exclusively for the waiter who opened it, preventing overlap or confusion.

8.) Access Denied for Reserved Table

Anita Oliver tries to access Table 2, but it is already reserved by Abigail Peterson. A pop-up message clearly notifies that the table is locked and cannot be managed by another waiter. This feature ensures proper table ownership, avoids order mix-ups, and keeps the restaurant workflow organized and conflict-free.

9.) Cancel Order Action

Anita Oliver has opened Table 1 and accessed the Actions menu. The system provides several options such as General Note, Transfer/Merge, Guests, Bill, Refund, Pricelist, and more. One important option here is Cancel Order, highlighted at the bottom.

10.) Table Released After Order Cancellation

we see that Table 1, which was previously occupied by Anita Oliver, has now been released and marked as available again. This happened because Anita canceled the order from the Actions menu. At the same time, Table 2 remains locked by Abigail Peterson, as she is still serving customers there. This demonstrates how the POS Waiter Lock Table system updates the floor plan in real time—ensuring that canceled or completed tables are freed up immediately

11.) Table Transfer Between Waiters

Abigail Peterson has transferred her order from Table 2 to Table 3. Both tables are highlighted in red, showing that they are now locked under her name. This demonstrates the Transfer/Merge feature of the POS Waiter Lock Table module, where a waiter can move an order seamlessly from one table to another without losing control.

12.) Initiating Table Transfer or Merge

Abigail Peterson has opened the Actions Menu for Table 2. She selects the Transfer / Merge option, which allows her to either move the current order to another table or merge it with an existing one. This feature is particularly useful for managing changes in seating arrangements, such as when customers move to a different table or when two groups decide to join together.

13.) Successful Table Transfer Confirmation

the order from Table 2 has been moved to Table 3, which is now shown in red under Abigail Peterson. Once the transfer is complete, Table 2 becomes free and ready for new customers. All items and billing details move smoothly to the new table without any problems. Highlighting the active table helps waiters clearly see which table they are serving, reducing mistakes and confusion.
